History of His Majesty the King Rama IX Music Library Hall

           On the auspicious occasion of the Fiftieth Anniversary (Golden Jubilee) Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the throne, a group of musicians of A.S.Friday musical band had obtained  the royal permission to establish His Majesty the King Rama IX Music Library Hall, under the support of Mr.Charoen and Khunying Wanna Siriwattanabhakdi, and through their appreciation in the capability in music of His Majesty the King, by donating 15 million Baht.   Being constructed  with the connection to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Musical Library Hall on the west side, this hall is a three-storey building, 12.00 meters in width, and 18.50 meters in length.   With the open space at the ground floor, car traffic has been facilitated regularly.  Second Floor is the room for servicing in study and searching for songs composed by His Majesty the King and his activities related to music, including the collection of records, tape recordings, compact discs, video tapes, and other audio-visual equipments, and complete version of notes of songs composed by His Majesty the King.  Third Floor is the room for displaying and performing music.

           Objectives of the establishment

  • To celebrate the auspicious occasion of the Fiftieth Anniversary (Golden Jubilee) Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the throne.
     
  • To be the center in compilation of all kinds of songs composed by His Majesty the King, in various media; television, book, documents, and song notes.
     
  • To publicize the songs composed by His Majesty the King, to students, and people for their study and search for accurate and complete information.
     
  • To be the center for searching musical technical matters, and provide happiness, entertainment to youth, and all level of people.
